Club Sports is an excellent opportunity for students to continue to compete or participate in a sport while developing and refining transferable skills. Club Sports assist students with leadership development, communication, decision-making, budgeting, and teamwork.

All UNCG Club Sports are registered student organizations through the Office of Campus Activities and Programs. Club Sports are not varsity athletics. They are student organizations.

All students are welcome to join a club sport. Membership in a club cannot be discriminated against on the basis of age, gender, race, sexual orientation, political affiliation, religious beliefs, or athletic ability. As many of our clubs are competitive in nature, membership in a club does not guarantee playing time. You can find more information about each of our clubs by visiting their individual club page in SpartanConnect. Each club has its own unique membership requirements. Questions about these requirements, practice times, and upcoming schedules can be found on the specific club’s page or by contacting the club’s officers.

If we do not currently have a club you are interested in participating with, you may start a new club sport. The first step in starting a new club is to contact the Assistant Director, Competitive Sports at clubs@uncg.edu. As part of the club sport recognition process, all new clubs must complete the new student organization process through the Office of Campus Activities and Programs.
