LIFEGUARD
The Lifeguard position holds significant importance to the successful operations of the Natatorium and the Piney Lake waterfront. Lifeguards ensure the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergency situations.

The Swim Instructor position holds significant importance to the successful operations of the Kaplan Center Natatorium. Swim instructors are tasked with the planning and teaching of lessons, private, semi-private or group, to children and/or adults of all levels and abilities through quality and appropriate instruction.

Competitive Sports Assistant
Competitive Sports Assistants (CSA) enjoy working in a fun, active sports environment. They have the opportunity to continue their involvement in their favorite sports, gain lifelong skills, and become a part of a strong community. The primary role of the CSA is executing our nightly leagues and events. Flexible schedules with weekday and weekend shifts are available.

Competitive Sports Program Assistant – Marketing
Program Assistants are key team members responsible for telling the story of the Department of Recreation & Wellness to members of the UNC Greensboro community. Using their unique voice and perspective, Program Assistants are challenged to develop attractive and captivating content that engages the audience and drives them to want to learn more.

GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR (Certified or Non-Certified)
Group Fitness Instructors (certified and non-certified) provide an incredible group fitness experience to the UNCG Community. Instructors develop fitness classes that motivate individuals to reach their fitness goals.

FITNESS ASSISTANT
Fitness Assistants serve as customer service representatives and monitor for risk management throughout fitness spaces. The Fitness Assistant is often a point of contact for guests in need of assistance with fitness equipment and are trained to provide recommendations and support to a diverse body of participants.

Certified Personal Trainer
The Certified Personal Trainer develops and executes customized health and fitness programming for students and the wider university community. They will work with a diverse clientele to reach their goals in weight loss, muscle building, and increasing their fitness levels through appropriate program development.

Graphic Designer
Graphic Designers are tasked with using their creativity and individual style to develop engaging and striking content that promotes the Department of Recreation and Wellness. Using a variety of design techniques, these staff members create the materials that are the public face of the department.

Marketing Assistant 1
The Marketing Program Assistant within the Department of Recreation and Wellness is a vital leadership position responsible for daily operations and administrative support for the marketing department. This staff member assists with supporting an area that produces materials that are the public face of the department.

Member Services Assistant
The Member Services Assistant (MSA) serves as the first customer service representative and primary operator of all Welcome Desk and Administrative Suite operations. MSAs are the first point of contact for members and guests wanting to purchase a membership, guest pass, register for a safety course, checkout equipment, or inquire about program offerings available. These staff members provides guidance and support to a diverse body of participants, and are tasked with welcoming all patrons and guests with a friendly attitude.

Outdoor Adventures Assistant
The Outdoor Adventures Assistant is a position of significant importance to the successful operations of the Outdoor Adventures program. Assistants are responsible for contributing to the daily operations within the program, consisting of the climbing wall, front desk, Piney Lake, and gear storage room. Assistants are expected to work weekly shifts 8-12 hours per week and weekend shifts, including special events and programs. Schedules are set with flexibility around class schedules.
After one full semester working with Outdoor Adventures, Assistants will be able to determine their specialty within the program; The options include Route Setter at the climbing wall, Trip Leader on adventure trips, or Challenge Course Facilitator on the challenge course at Piney Lake. Continued growth within the program will allow staff to apply for higher leadership roles within these specialties.

Outdoor Adventures Trip Leader
The Outdoor Adventures Trip Leader is an essential leadership role within the Outdoor Adventures program. Trip Leaders are responsible for all aspects of the adventure trips offered by the program including trip preparation, transportation, implementation, and assessment of trips. Trips occur on weekends, during breaks, and on occasional evenings. Previous experience as a trip leader is not required, as all Trip Leaders must complete CTR 203: Fundamentals of Outdoor Leadership during the Fall or Spring semester to continue to serve on leadership teams for trips.

Team Development Challenge Course Facilitator
Challenge course facilitators are responsible for assisting the Coordinator of Outdoor Recreation and Education with the administration, delivery, and assessment of initiatives, expedition course, and combination programs for members of the UNCG community. Hours are flexible and dependent upon the number of programs scheduled.

ESPORTS ARENA SUPERVISOR
The Esports Arena Supervisor is responsible for providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive gaming environment for UNCG Students. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Esports Arena located in Moran Commons. Daily responsibilities include managing access to the Esports Arena, providing technology support, and ensuring a high quality gaming environment for all visitors.
