Each year the University of North Carolina at Greensboro implements the online alcohol use prevention and sexual violence prevention program known as AlcoholEdu and the Sexual Assault Prevention Courses (formerly known as HAVEN and HAVEN Plus). These programs are both confidential and personalized based on your own individual answers. Because UNCG cares about students’ health, safety, and academic success, the University REQUIRES every first year, non-transfer, non-international students under the age of 21 who is entering UNCG to complete AlcoholEdu and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates. All new students including transfer, international, adult, and graduate must complete complete one of the Sexual Assault Prevention Courses. Undergraduates must complete Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates and all graduate students must complete Sexual Assault Prevention Course for Graduate Students.

Adult, Transfer and International Students DO NOT have to complete AlcoholEdu. However, they DO have to complete Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates.

Graduate Students DO NOT have to complete AlcoholEdu. However, they DO have to complete Sexual Assault Prevention for Graduate Students.

Who needs to complete AlcoholEdu? ALL first year (freshmen), non-transfer, non-international students under the age of 21 who are entering UNCG for the first time.

How will students find out about MORE AlcoholEdu and the Sexual Assault Prevention Courses? Students and parents attending Orientation are informed of the participation mandate through presentations, as well as in written information included in orientation materials. ; First year (freshmen) students entering the institution in the fall will be sent a postcard via the USPS and an e-mail to their UNCG E-Mail account with directions on how to log into the AlcoholEdu® and the Sexual Assault Prevention Courses. All other new students, adult, transfer, international, and Graduate, will be sent an e-mail to their official UNCG E-Mail account with directions on how to log into the Sexual Assault Prevention Courses.

REMEMBER only first year (freshmen) students under 21 have to complete AlcoholEdu® but ALL new students including freshmen must complete the Sexual Assault Prevention Course.

How long does it take to complete the courses?

Part 1 of the AlcoholEdu® course takes about 1.5-2 hours to complete. Part 1 of the Sexual Assault Prevention course takes about 45 minutes-1 hour to complete. We recommend that you take these courses in multiple sittings. Both sections end with an exam and survey.

When is Part 1 of AlcoholEdu® and Sexual Assault Prevention due?

Part 1 of both courses are due on Tuesday, August 14, 2018.

When will Part 2 of AlcoholEdu® and the Sexual Assault Prevention Course be available?

There is a 30 to 45-day intersession between part 1 and part 2 of both courses. After you have completed part 1 and have been on campus for a few weeks, you will receive an email asking you to complete Part 2 of each course. These sections will take about 15 minutes each.

When is Part 2 of AlcoholEdu® and Sexual Assault Prevention due?

Part 2 of both courses must be completed by Friday, October 12th, 2018

What happens if I do not complete AlcoholEdu® or Sexual Assault Prevention by the deadlines?

If you do not complete all parts of the courses, a hold will be placed on your Spring 2019 registration preventing you from registering for courses.

You are expected to complete AlcoholEdu® and Sexual Assault Prevention. You will need one EverFi Higher Education Account to access the course(s) from your dashboard.

New First Year/First Time (Freshmen) College Students Under the age of 21 Registration Directions:

If you are a new first-year student under the age of 21, you are required to complete both AlcoholEdu and Sexual Assault Prevention. Below are instructions on how to register and complete the courses:

  • Go to: http://www.everfi.com/register
  • Create an account using your official UNCG email address and a password of your choice. When prompted, please enter your 9 digit Student ID to receive credit for completion. If you do not enter your official Student ID, you may not receive credit for taking this course.
  • Enter the registration code cd764473 and click “Student Learner” to create your EverFi account.

New Transfer, International & Adult Student Registration Directions:

If you are a new transfer, international or adult student, you are only required to complete the Sexual Assault Prevention course. Below are instructions on how to register and complete the course:

  • Go to: http://www.everfi.com/register
  • Create an account using your official UNCG email address and a password of your choice. When prompted, please enter your 9 digit Student ID to receive credit for completion. If you do not enter your official Student ID, you may not receive credit for taking this course.
  • Enter the registration code 1b1045e4 and click “Student Learner” to create your EverFi account.

New Graduate Student Registration Directions:

If you are a new graduate student, you are required to complete the Sexual Assault Prevention course. Below are instructions on how to register and complete the course:

  • Go to: http://www.everfi.com/register
  • Create an account using your official UNCG email address and a password of your choice. When prompted, please enter your 9 digit Student ID to receive credit for completion. If you do not enter your official Student ID, you may not receive credit for taking this course.
  • Enter the Registration Code: 2c579301 and then follow the prompts to create your Everfi account.
