Questions?

  • How many people are in each group lesson?
Ratios for group lessons are 6 participants per instructor, with a maximum of 12 participants per class.
  • How many lessons are included in group lessons?
In total, there are 9 sessions. The first class consists of skills test to ensure each participant is in the proper level class, followed by 8 sessions of instruction.
  • What if I don’t know which level is for me?
Complete a Swim Lesson Interest Form online, and our instructors will contact you to determine the appropriate level to join. There are also newsletter hyperlinks on our Group Lessons website, containing general information about each of the class levels.
  • What if I can’t make it to one of the group lesson dates?
We recommend attending every session in order to learn the skills in a logical progression; however, you may miss up to two lessons and still be eligible for the exit skills assessment, which is the American Red Cross’s standard for certifying swimmers and moving up levels. No refunds or makeup sessions will be granted for any missed lessons.
  • What if the level I sign up for does not have enough enrollment?
To run a group lesson, we need at least three participants. If a level does not have enough enrollment, you can take the level below or pay the difference for private lessons.
