AQUATICS

Lifeguard

The lifeguard position holds significant importance to the successful operations of the Kaplan Center Natatorium and the Piney Lake waterfront. Lifeguards ensure the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergency situations.

COMPETITIVE SPORTS

Sports Official

The Competitive Sports Official is a position of significant importance to the successful operations of the Competitive Sports Program. They serve as the primary point of contact with the program for the majority of participants. Competitive Sports officials work in a sports environment aiding in customer satisfaction, minimizing manageable risks, ensuring a fair unbiased participation experience through the enforcement of programmatic, departmental and university policies.

FACILITIES

Patron Services Assistant

The Patron Services Assistant is a vital position within the Department of Recreation and Wellness, serving as the first customer service representative and primary operator of all Welcome Desk operations at the Leonard J. Kaplan Center for Wellness. The Patron Services Assistant is the first point of contact for guests when entering the Kaplan Center and therefore should be able to provide guidance and support to a diverse body of participants. Patron Services Assistants are tasked with welcoming all patrons and guests with a friendly attitude and must have a desire to help with any and all questions or concerns patrons may have.

Group Fitness Instructor

A Group Fitness Instructor provides leadership and guidance for UNCG students and the wider university community by developing and facilitating instructional fitness programming. They provide a safe, fun, inclusive atmosphere and motivate participants to reach their goals and develop healthy habits.

Special Events Assistant

Special Events Assistants represent both the Department of Recreation & Wellness and UNC Greensboro. As the point of first contact for many guests, it is vital that these staff members collaborating with their coworkers and supervisor to create a safe and positive environment for event within the Leonard J. Kaplan Center for Wellness. They are tasked with completing event setup and breakdown.
